  Thank for your interest in x Chat.

  For your first question, x Chat doesn't have the feature to get another
  person's IP address. And, it is impossible to do that automatically.
  It is dependeded on what kind of Internet connection you have. If you have
  the Internet on cable. You should have static IP address.
  x Chat is also best for intranet. For the local network connection using
  TCP/IP, everyone on the network should have the static IP addresses.

  Back to the previous question, it is impossible to check another person's IP
  address. Why? For the regular Internet connection using phone line, people 
  don't have static IP addresses. Every time you dial in ISP, ISP give you a
  dynamic IP address.
  In order to solve that problem is to setup a server - a server to check both
  persons' IP addresses when they run x Chat.

  Your suggestion of web server is a very good idea. The requirement of a 
  Server  is a regular PC with dedicated line and fast internet connection 
  with a static IP address. The most ideal system is to have 1 main server 
  and serval backup servers. If anyone volunteer to dedicate a PC to run a 
  server, please contact me. I'm pleased to develop a Cient and Server version 
  of x Chat.

  In addition to this suggestion, there are also many IP posting program you 
  may use to post your IP adress to your Homepage.
